Deputy Chief Reggie Cotton

deputy chief reggie cotton was born and raised in muskogee, oklahoma.  he has been employed with the city of muskogee for more than 20 years and is currently the commanding officer for the administrative division.  he has served as a police administrator for the department since 2004.

澳门威尼斯人注册网站reggie graduated from c.l.e.e.t. in 1990 while serving as a patrolman for central state university in edmond, currently the university of central oklahoma.  he worked there for two years before joining the private sector as a security supervisor/manager for a private security firm in oklahoma city.  he moved back to muskogee in 1992 and began serving as a supervisor for the muskogee county juvenile detention facility.  he joined the muskogee police department in 1993 where he still enjoys his career.

reggie’s commitment to service is demonstrated by his work in numerous activities within the department such as public information officer, special investigations unit officer, peak shift officer, and other assigned duties by the chief of police.  he has attended specialized police training in virginia beach, las vegas, reno, kansas city, new orleans, memphis, san antonio, baltimore, and many other cities.

reggie holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the university of central oklahoma.  he also holds a master’s degree from northeastern state university, and he is a 2008 graduate of the fbi national academy in quantico, virginia.  he holds a “certificate of achievement” from the university of virginia and graduated from the university of tulsa’s pedal (police executive development and leadership) program with honors.  he has received numerous awards for service and leadership in law enforcement.  reggie has taught at the college level for over 20 years.  he has taught at connors state, northeastern state university, and bacone college.  he is currently working on his doctorate in organizational leadership at grand canyon university.

reggie is married to his college sweetheart, toni, and the couple have three children and one grandchild.  he serves as a deacon at rayfield baptist church and is very active in several community outreach programs.  he is a member of noble (national association of blacks in criminal justice), alpha phi alpha, oklahoma association of chiefs of police, fbinaa (federal bureau of investigation national academy association, nabcj (national association of blacks in criminal justice), muskogee area greeks, inc., and other various organizations.
