What are TRIO and Student Support Services?

The Department of Education began three澳门威尼斯人注册网站 interrelated programs as part of the War on Poverty under President Lyndon B. Johnson — Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Support Services. Bacone College has been involved with Student Support Services since 1969.

     

OUR GOAL

To provide academic and non‐academic support and assistance to first‐ generation, low‐income, and/or disabled students to graduate with bachelors degrees.

Am I eligible for assistance?

澳门威尼斯人注册网站bacone college student support services participants must be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree. participants must be incoming or currently enrolled as students at bacone. participants must demonstrate academic need and meet at least one of the following criteria.

  1. Low‐income Student: a student whose family meets federal income eligibility guidelines as verified by Bacone College.
  2. First‐generation college student: a student whose parents or guardians have not received a bachelor’s degree, or a student who did not regularly live with or receive support from a parent with a bachelor’s degree.
  3. College student with documented disabilities: these special circumstances are defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act and must be verified by Bacone College.
